Levo supports a Watertown Band Teacher

(0:00) Levo is pleased to be able to award a 2025 Adopt-a-Classroom Award to Mr. Garrett Buchanan, (0:08) who is the band director here at Watertown Intermediate School. (0:11) His nominator was not able to be here today, but we have asked his principal, (0:16) Tim, to say a few words about what an amazing teacher Garrett is. (0:20) Absolutely.

Mr. Buchanan has generated interest in the fine arts by getting fifth graders and (0:25) sixth graders into band. He has started a jazz band a couple years ago that we have kept running for (0:30) three years now. He just brought these kids down here in front of us down to an honors band, (0:36) and he has built this program, and we're excited to see where it goes.

(0:41) That is fantastic. Well, hopefully the $500 you receive as one of our winners will help (0:45) fund the band program a little bit. What are you going to use the money for? (0:48) Absolutely.

I'll use the money for some general band supplies like reeds, (0:54) ligatures, and for instrument repair. (0:56) Excellent. Well, congratulations.
